Hamilton-Oshawa Port plans to offtake hydrogen from Atura Power

Canada’s Hamilton-Oshawa Port Authority (HOPA) is set to receive green hydrogen from Atura Power as part of its commitments to decarbonise under a fresh Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

HOPA says it has been investigating the use of green hydrogen in its operations and that of its customers, adding that the purchase of hydrogen from Atura would support its plans for growing its clean energy use and reducing its carbon footprint.

Coming as the largest port in the Great Lakes region of Canada, covering facilities in Hamilton, Oshawa and Niagara, the introduction of hydrogen into HOPA’s operations could encourage the uptake of the clean hydrogen carrier elsewhere.
